The Ultimate Secret of Making money with email marketing revealed

In this post I want to point out few simple FACTS about email marketing…

They say money is in the list. That`s a phrase you`ve heard about million times before but I`m going to crush that phrase and flush it down the toilet!

MONEY IS NOT IN THE LIST!

go ahead and say: “What the heck? But you say that the list is your most important money-making tool and…”

Well, yeah…few years ago you could have  loaded up any pre-written sales email and make money but today it`s not that easy.

You need to understand the fact that more and more of people are using autoresponders and MOST of those marketers use autoresponders to send out nothing more but sales pitches…(some people call it spamming…)

And it means more and more people are used of getting loads of JUNK emails saying: “Buy this and Buy that and This offer ends midnight so get yours while you still can…BUY, BUY, BUY!”

You know what I mean, don`t you?

I mean, How many emails you have gotten in past few days that had no other content but “Buy this awesome product…”

…And how many emails you have gotten that actually helped you?

Now, my guess is you have gotten MORE of the “buy this and buy that” emails…and I guess you are tired of receiving endless stream of sales pitches because you most likely feel like the marketers who send you stuff like that are just trying to rip you off!

the Question here is: “Do you want to buy something from them?” (Especially when you get 10 exactly same emails with same exact headlines in the same day…)

Do you really think you will be making long-term money with email marketing if YOU go and load up your autoresponder with those “buy this product now” -emails? The answer is NO! You can make some money, but if all you offer is endless stream of sales pitches, your subscribers begin to think you only want their money and guess what happens? You`ve just lost a subscriber…

The biggest reason why most of people fail miserably online with email marketing  is because they have this mentality of “I just want to get paid, no matter what!” and those people make internet marketing look bad!

I am going to be honest with you here: If your ony motivation is to make sales, I suggest you forget about online business right away! You will fail if your number one motivation is to make money and there`s nothing more in it for you! You will only become another marketer who is sending out sales pitches that no-one wants to read.

I confess..I used to be like that also…And I´m not too proud about it…

I used to wonder what I am doing wrong because I`m not making sales and people want to unsubscribe from my list(s)…and in general, I didn`t feel happy about the way I was running my business. Simply, there was no joy in it and I was feeling empty inside…

…But Then I learned something that changed it all…

What I`m going to teach you here is the most important thing of successful internet marketing. (or any business whatsoever.)

When you write to your subscribers, your main motivation should Never, ever be in making sales!

Now, making sales and getting checks is awesome but if you are not helping people to achieve Their goals, your online business will fail miserably and sooner or later you will begin to feel like crap!

The Most important factor about making money with email marketing is based on helping your subscribers  to achieve their goals!

Okay, you can ask: “And how giving free information makes me any money…”

Well, You must understand that your subscribers need to have a Good Reason To Buy From You.

What I`m saying is that you need to build a relationship with your subscribers and give them good information they can put in action and use immediately. (But you shouldn`t write email that`s full of your affiliate links…)

You need to earn the right to recommend your own products and services (or affiliate products). You see, you need to prove you are “the good guy” who wants to help people…Not another greedy marketer who only wants to sell stuff.

If you give enough useful and good information away for free, your subscribers begins to see you as a your friend (and that`s who you should be…a friend to your subscriber) and they begin to trust you. And once they trust you and you recommend them your affiliate products (that you actually reviewed and used yourself to see it`s actually good product) You will make LOTS of sales.

You begin to see how this works?

Your relationship with your subscribers is the most important thing about making money outta your list. When you give away good information, your subscribers look forward to reveive emails from you…and that`s a really good position to be in!

In a nuthsell, If your readers get lots of good information from you, they begin to think that you are one of the few people online who actually cares about them and wants to help them. Once they see your email in their inbox, they will smile because they know that what you say is worth of their time (and money) because you are revealing them things that will benefit them!

Really, this is the Ultimate Secret Of making money with email marketing…

in  the next post I`ll show you how to write emails that are full of good content and useful information…even if you think you`re a complete newbie who has nothing to write about.

You are right most of the 200 plus e-mails I get a day are spam, where they are trying to sell somethingn right away.

You do have to build trust and that is not always easy. You have to give them value and sometimes a lot of free stuff.
If you give them what they want, they will look forward to hearing from you.
When a new product comes up I usually hear from several marketeers promoting the same thing with their bonuses to sweeten the deal.

    Wow, Lauri!

Your post today was spot on! Just like in a brick and mortar business, we need to think about our customers, what they need, and provide value (and goods and services) that will fulfill those needs. Give…and it will come back to in equal measure down the road.

Hope some of those “gurus” out there are listening to your wisdom. I have been unsubscribing to lists left and right for the very reasons you mentioned!

Thanks for sharing the good stuff!

Hey Lauri, nice text until the middle when you come to the goals of your counterpart who told you the goals this person has?
I read your text 3 times to get your intention, to get the idea and to find the errors which are made in thinking. I can’t help this is my way to come to results when something get my attention.
    1. Blatant mails to buy something are uninteresting. It is always a periode of time to knock someone down.
The only thing you should always have in mind is the AIDA principle period. It worked at the first days of marketing until today.
    2. The method of never tell your addressee you want to sell him the EiffelTower does not attract anything in him.You want some money for your “Idon’tknow” selling now or within a given time you are determining.
    3. look up what you have to do to sell take the letters translate into marketing and you have your material. In these times you can take all the free availble psychotricks to get rid of your scribblings and make money from the stupiest texts. If you want I look up something for you which attracts you to read from start to the end with your pen in your hand to subscribe.
This is not offending you but put your letter on test.

    Thanks Peter,

Well, site Copy and relationship marketing are two different things if you ask me…

You can use the copywriting tricks and stuff to bring up the sales conversions up 300%, tho…

Still, I pretty much know how to write copy for my squeeze pages as I´ve had up to 75% opt-in rate for some of my reports…

    Thanks for dropping a comment,

Hi,I think your article is “right on” as of the last 2 years trying to make money online as an affiliate marketer, have all been for naught!! I am not making any sales whatsoever, but my email box is almost full with a little under 5000 emails from all the big gurus who did the list thing like you say and they have let it slip to me in an email about building a list and giving them good information for free and then comes a few lower priced system/e-course to buy that will make me 100,000 dollars in a couple of weeks and so on and so on,and then after about a year they are all now hitting me for products and systems that will make me millions at a very good deal of $197,$397,up to $1000′s so I got the picture now and I don’t even have an autoresponder, and now with trying to unsubsribe from all these emails is a lotta work, and until I know for sure, that I have something of worth, to give people instead of throwing them a free pdf here and there,I don’t know if I will get one as soon as I was going to.
I have a great product(it is nowhere near the make money online niche) and I was going to try and make an e-book but I am thinking with some more research,it could very well become a real book. The thing is I don’t really trust anyone online to help me put this together.I don’t know what made me type that but I am leaving it there as I do trust my gut feelings.
Here is one site I find very interesting, check it out if you like…..

What you say is so true, I have never bought anything from someone who said ( buy now before its too late) Unlike you who I have bought from because you do offer help and come over as a real nice person, without any pressure, to buy. I do find your blogs helpful, so please keep them going.
